"Vicky was in mine and Michelle's muggle elementary school before we came to Hogwarts," Vanessa explained, casually twisting a strand of raven-black hair around her finger. She slipped her wand back into the wand pocket of her black cloak.

"Not that much. Some people I know from muggle school, but mostly people from Hogwarts this year like you," Vicky explained.

"You know, we haven't done much, well, MAGICY magic stuff yet. I want to learn so much- and I want to teach Mist some too. She only knows two spells- she can retreive stuff for me and she can come when I whisper a certain phrase." Vanessa whispered something strange that none of the others could understand, and in a puff of smoke Mist was right there. "I read a book and it taught me how," Vanessa grinned proudly.

" wow...that is pretty amazing." smiled Jared " I can't do much either but i am going to learn how. So i kind of know how you guys feel. After all...we are in our first year. We aren't suppose to know a lot of stuff anyways."

"I hope, by the end of the year, to teach Mist a simple healing charm- it's probobaly a lot of work, but I'm up to it," Vanessa smiled, leaning further back on the patterned couch. Mist leaped onto her lap, and Vanessa stroked her cat, Mist purring.

"So, why don't we talk about our classes? Hey Jared, what classes do you take? I take DADA,charms, potions, herblology, and..........I forgot," Vicky said.

" i am only signed up for Charms,Potions,Muggle Studies, and maybe Arithmancy...I don't know though. There is a lot you have to follow in that class. " Jared watched Vennessa as she stroked Mist. Thinking about the last time he had let Jeremy out of his cage. Two years ago. Except to send letters. " hold on...I will be right back. " Jared left the room walking very quickley. He wanted to get Jeremy really badly.
When Jared returned, he had his owl on his hand and he was lightly stroking it. He said to them," this is Jeremy...he is my owl. "With that, he sat back down on the couch that he was on before and he started to look at the patterns on his owls feathers.

Mist saw the owl, and grinned. The stealthy silver cat started to pounce onto Jeremy, but in the nick of time Vanessa drew out her wand and shouted "FREEZE!" As Mist stopped in midair and started falling back down, she did a summoning spell and Mist was on her lap again. Calmly, Vanessa said "What a beautiful owl you have, Jared!" and put her wand back into the wand pocket. "I do have to use magic a lot here, don't I," she said wonderingly.

Jared jumped and guarded his owl when he saw the cat leaping towards Jeremy. He watched with amazement at how good that Vanessa was at magic. " i could never do that." he said and watched Vanessa calmly sit back down with her cat in her lap. " thankyou...I like him a lot. I just don't spend enough time with him." Jared laughed when she said that she had to use a lot of magic." well.. you do good at it." he said, complimenting her on her magic skills. She really was.

"Thanks... it took me forever to read all those books on magic!" exclaimed Vanessa. "I started reading at an early age, and my free time was mostly spent reading books about magic. My parents were a wizard and witch, and they were sure I would get the Hogwarts letter."

" i could NOT spend most of my freetime reading all these books and everything. I just couldn't do it. It looks like you handle it very well though and I am happy that you do...or else my owl would probably be dead right now. And i wouldn't be very happy about it either...so THANKYOU!"

"Sorry to interupt your conversation but, if I may, I need to leave. Nice talking to you guys. I really hope for some people to join my qudditch team. I'm the only player right now. I'm the seeker and the captain...Anyways, see you guys around. Later!" Vikcy said as she walked out of the classroom. She hadn't left because of what she told them. She had felt left out, not that it was their fault but... she still thought that they were having a good conversation and it would be rude for her to just sit there, looking like she was evesdropping. I hope they would call after me and start a conversation with me in it......... "Hope"...... "What you hope usually never comes true....." Vicky muttered to herself
