[Miley Riddle]

Miley smiled and set her hand in her lap. "Well, it's nice to re-meet you Jared. You're goin' for prefect? Good luck. It'll be nice not being the only important person around here." She laughed abit and looked out at the lake for no real reason.

[fennecas]

" nice to re-meet you too. I hope i make it into being a prefect. Do you think it is fun and all...i mean...bossing people around? " Jared looked out to where Miley was looking. Just to see if there was something interesting going on. When he found out that nothing interesting was going on, he dipped his head and looked towards the ground.

[Miley Riddle]

Miley laughed alittle. "Do I think it's fun? If any Riddle askes you I said yes. Truth is not really. I'm not exactly the social type. So normally talking at all goes against everything I know. I've spent all my life watching my little sister. She's the only person I've ever really spoken to." Miley shrugged. She hated that Leslie, her little sister, had talked her into coming here.

" well how come you think it is so horrible all the time. you have to think it is fun sometimes don't you? I mean really...your having fun right now aren't you? Like me...i get bored a lot but that doesn't mean that i never have fun around here. Even if you are a prefect...does it really make that much of a difference?" Jared was hoping that he wasn't talking too much and just annoying her. He was hoping that he was making a point without her getting mad like everyone else.

[Miley Riddle]

Miley thought for a moment. He had a point. Stupid points. Sighing she said," Okay you have a point, but this the first time I've actually had fun that doesn't involve freakin' my sister out. Mostly I hate talking to people because normally they think I'm this totally jerk just because I'm a Riddle. Truth is I'm not. At least I don't think I am." Miley was surprised. She was actually enjoying talking to someone who wasn't her sister.

" why in the world would people think that you are a jerk? I think that you are a wonderful person...your other sister Jessica though...she can be grouchy. and you can have more fun if you want. Even though people might hate you...prove to them that they have no point hating you and that you guys can be friends...then you can hang out with them and have fun. look...your talking to me and i don't think you are a jerk and we are having fun. Just do this to more people and you will have fun. That is all i am trying to say. " jared smiled at Miley. This was no ordinary smile though. It was an ' i am your friend and will always be your friend no matter what ' smile.

Miley nodded, trying to hide that she was blushing abit. She'd never actually had someone tell her she was a wonderful person. So, she was still trying to decide how to take it. "I know what you mean. That Jessica she's a fiesty one. We kinda had a rough start. I didn't actually know she was my sister till she said she was a Riddle. You're the first person who doesn't actually think I'm a jerk. Besides Leslie of course. She's my little sister. You're good with advice. I've never been any good with words." Miley smiled at Jared. Amazingly it was kinda sweet. Maybe even a little bit innocent. She looked at him then suddnely down that the water at her feet.

" she is a VERY fiesty one. Was it a surprise to you that she was your sister and that you didn't find out until then? Did you know about your sister Leslie all of your life? Why would i be the only person to think of you as not a jerk? I can't get that. Me? Good with advice? I don't think so. You could probably be good at words if you wanted to." Jared wanted to be polite to Miley. He liked her. He really liked her. He just wanted to show her what a nice guy he could be and that he liked her. When Miley smiled at him, he smiled back and then said," I just don't want you thinking about yourself in that way. Cause it isn't true how you think you are a jerk."

"Truly it wasn't a real surprise. Leslie I knew about. Me and her lived in a cottage in the woods together since she was born. I'm really protective of her. Stupefied I a few kids the other day cause they wouldn't stop teasing her. So what if she has a small fear of water? I don't know. I guess you're the only person who's really cared to get to know me. That sounded chessy." She laughed abit.

She shook her head. "I'd never be good with words. Words just aren't my thing." Miley looked at Jared, still smiling. "I'm glad somebody doesn't think I'm a jerk. I don't care if I'm a jerk. I can't be anything but me. If people have a problem with that they need to take it up with me." She shrugged alittle. "At least that's how I see it." Surprisingly she liked Jared. He seemed really nice. She wasn't used to nice, but seemed pretty cool.

" did you guys have a hard time living there? and how did you guys get to come here to Hogwarts? Well...i think that it is cool how you stuck up for your sister like that. Not a lot of people will do that. That didn't sound cheesy at all." Jared laughed with Miley anyways.

" i know what you mean when you say that. I don't see why people always change just to be friends with this one person, or to be cool and stuff like that. What is the point? I think you are right for people needing to come to you if they have a problem with you. It is stupid for someone to just talk about them behind someones back. It just means they are too chicken to actually talk to them and that they know the person that they are making fun of are better then them." Jared was happy that he just made friends with Miley and that they had this talk becuase it helped both him and her. He just hoped that they could hang out another time too and that this woldn't be the last time that they spoke to each other.

"No not really. I home schooled her, cause I didn't want her to be around all those other kids. We had a really good thing goin' for us. Then she got the letter to Hogwarts. She was so excited. Poor thing couldn't understand why I was mad about it. Then I got mine and she talked me into coming. I wouldn't have done it for anyone else. I didn't want to leave the peace. It was the only peace I'd ever known and coming here scares me. And...I can't believe I just said that." Miley sighed alittle. She'd never openly told someone that something scared her, but telling Jared felt so right. It was strange.

"I agree. People who go behind your back are cowards and they won't make it very far in the world. I wouldn't be able to change for someone even if I wanted to. Which I don't. I'm perfectly happy with this me. The real me." Miley was glad that she'd actually found someone she felt comfortable talking to. She'd just meet him, but already Miley felt like she could tell Jareth anything without feeling stupid about it.

" i always wondered what homeschooling was like. Sorry about asking all of these questions too. You can ask me some too if you want. I don't mind. I think that it is really nice how you let her come here. I say you just have to get used to the place before you start to like it. It scared me too when i first thought about coming here by myself. But look at me...I am having a great time here. And you will too. It will just take some time that's all. I can tell how you feel. " Jared looked at the lake and how beautiful it was.

" no they really don't make it too far do they? I think that i feel that way too. Becuase you are who you are and noone can really change that, not even yourself. They shouldn't be going around like that anyways. It is just rude and inconsiderable. If they learn to do it now then they are going to end up doing it all their life and then what will happen to them? they won't have any friends and they won't have anyone to talk to. " Jared smiled and laughed abit at the thought of some lonely person because they talked behind their friend's backs all the time. Jared was really happy to be able to talk to someone and just let everything out that bothered him. He would do anything to make someone happy too. Cause that was just who he was.

"It's okay. Questions are a good thing. Questions lead to discovery. And sometimes discovery can lead to destiny. Or something like that. In shorter words it's a good thing. So, do you have any brothers or sisters? Yeah well this place seems okay. At least environmently friendly." Miley laughed abit.

"Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself." Miley smiled abit and brushed a strand of her blond hair from her face. "Stupid hair." She muttered with a laugh. She looked at Jared. He seemed really sweet. She really liked him. Before she could stop herself she said," So do you have a girlfriend?" Compeletly embarressed she looked at the lake, biting her lip.

" well then i think that i must be a really curious guy then?" Jared said laughing a little. " No...i don't think i have any...well at least none that i know of." Jared laughed with Miley after she said that the place seemed environmently friendly.

Jared watched her brush away her hair with a smooth action and laughed at her comment of 'stupid hair'. Jared looked down at his legs and he thought to himself,'she is a sweet and funny girl...i really like her. I love hanging out with her too. I am glad that i came to the lake today! ' Jared looked at her when she asked him if he had a girlfriend. "no..." and he looked down at the lake afterwards...kind of embarassed that he didn't have one. He didn't see why he had to though. It just kind of happened.

Miley glanced over at Jared. "Oh, that's alright I don't have a boyfriend. Never really needed one." She shrugged. That was halfway true. Normally she didn't really let anyone get close enough to have a chance of being her boyfriend or anything.

"There aren't many people here are there?" She asked as she looked around. There didn't seem to be many kids around. She looked back at Jared, unable to contain a smile. He's cool. I've never met anyone like him. I really like him. Hanging out with him is uber coolio too. Miley thought as she brushed her hair out of her face again.
