Professor Cavanagh's Office

[Professor Gregory Cavanagh]

Towards the left wall when you enter the classroom is a staircase that leads to an upper floor of the North Tower. This surprisingly large room is Professor Cavanagh's personal office, where he spends most of his time when he is not teaching or gazing out at the stars. The door is labeled such, with a gold plaque that says "Professor Gregory A. Cavanagh, Astronomy Professor and Head of Hufflepuff." A bronze knocker is on there as well. Inside is Professor Cavanagh's desk and many of his books and possesions arranged on a bookshelf. A telescope pointing out the window is positioned next to the desk. It is dark, and the fireplace is always lit especially in winter. Two chairs are in front of the desk for visitors to sit, and the professor is always open to visitors.

Professor Zerda black walked throught the castle, then noticed an office that she hadn't been in yet. She strode over to the door and grasped the bronze knocker. She knocked once, then backed away.

Dozing off in his chair, the warmth that radiated from the lit fireplace had put Professor Cavanagh to sleep. His lack of energy, due to having to get his things arranged and in order, had taken a toll on him, and he had shut his eyes momentarily after a period of doing some lesson plans - only to fall quickly into a nap.

But at the sound of the knocker against the door, he abruptly sat up, and he looked towards the entrance. Shaking his head, he ran a hand through his hair and rubbed his eyes as he stood up, his robes sweeping behind him. Opening the door, he came face to face with an adult woman, one had had seen around the castle before but never actually spoke to. A polite and cheery smile on his face, he gestured for her to come inside. "Hello there, I don't believe we've met before...I'm Gregory Cavanagh. How can I help you?"

"well, i jsut thought i should know all the staff, before classes stared. I'm Zerda Black. It's nice to meet you," ZErda said, coming in gratfully.

Greg nodded in response, swiftly closing the door behind her when she came inside. He led her to one of the chairs in front of his desk, gesturing for her to sit down before sitting in the chair across from her as well. Folding his hands against his lap, he looked at her. "Wonderful to meet you, Zerda. Would you like anything? I could conjure up some tea or something if you wish," he said, eying his wand on his desk.

"I'm glad you came, it's good to get to know colleagues...I've been appointed head of Hufflepuff and professor of Astronomy, hence why I live in the cold dark tower!" he said, laughing in amusement. "All silliness aside, what about yourself, what post did the headmaster give you?"

"I'm the professor for Divination and the slytherin head of house." Zerda said, answering his question. then she remembered his other queston and said, "Yes please, tea would really hit the spot."
