Sabrina walked into the empty class and got ready for the lesson to begin. She took out her wand and wrote :
Welcome to the 1st lesson of arithmancy. Please take a seat and take out your notebooks and quill and start taking notes on what I say when I begin the lesson. Yes there will be homework.
on the board. She stood there waiting for students to arrive.
((This lesson will not be erased. It will stay up here until testing times come. Everything except for the main key points and ideas will be erased at the end of this leseson so you can come back here and instead of reading everybody else's posts, you can just refer to the main things that will be on the test. This message goes with all the lessons we have before testing time. ))
"Arithmancy is an ancient system of fortune-telling based on names and numbers. For over 2000 years, people have used Arithmancy to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, overcome obstacles, and predict the future. Hermione probably likes this system of divination because it isn't based on interpreting fuzzy images or giving meaning to random shapes and squiggles, but on mathematical calculations you can do with a pencil and paper." Sabrina said.
Homework: 1. What is arithmancy(in your own words)? 2.What are 4 main things that arithmancy does? 3. What do you think arithmancy might help you with, besides finding the 4 main things about a person? Please do this in you homework folder. It will be due 1 week after you sign up for the class.
