Lesson 1 -Intro to DADA-

[Headmistress Mayu Sohma]

Mayu walked to her desk and sat down some books, some papers and anything else she was holding in her hand. She gently fixed her skirt and walked over to the nearby chalkboard, she then began to write on it. After a couple of minutes she had written down;

Welcome to DADA. First Lesson; Introduction. Yes there is homework

She then placed the chalk down and waited for all of her students to arrive.

Vicky walked into the DADA room and saw that she was the first student there. " Good morning professor. How are you doing today?" Vicky asked. She took a seat and waited for more students to come.

Ayden walked into the DADA room, seeing the Professor and Allison. "Hey" he said to her and sat next to her.

Mayu smiled at Allison. "I'm fine Ms.Granger, are you doing better?" she asked her and noticed a boy walk. She figured it was Ayden, the Professor named Jason Martin told her alittle about him.

"Once more students arrive I shall start class." she informed them

[Vicky Granger]

" Yes thank you Proffesor. I'm doing a lot better today. Oh, hello Ayden, how are you?" Allison asked.

[Headmistress Mayu Sohma]

Mayu looked around, only seeing one student. She smiled gently.

"Maybe we should start?" she said questioningly. She decided to start and let the other students be tardy. She stood up and cleared her throat.

"My name is Mayu Sohma. You may call me Professor Sohma, Professor, or Ms. Sohma." she began. "Well I was born in Kyoto Japan and grew up there until the age of 8, then I was raised in London England. I have an older sister and I'm an aunt. Defense Against the Dark Arts has been my favorite subject, just learning about different creatures is fascinating. After teaching I plan to retire, gain my father's land and grow crops and sell them" she said, explaining herself abit.

"Now I want everyone else to explain themselves. Say your name, house and year. And some other things about you." she said.

(ooc: The lesson is to introduce yourself. For full points it must be 4 sentences. The homework is to PM me a paragraph on what you think the Dark Arts is. Homework due on Feb. 12))

"My name is Vicky Granger and I am in Gryffindor. It is my first year here and I hope I will really enjoy it. My favorite subject here is arithmancy. I was born in London,England until I was age 10. I then moved to Kansas for a few years, and when I heard some good news that I was goning to come here, I moved back to London." Allison said to Professor Sohma.

For all of the other students who haven't posted post before the 12th. Something is better then nothing

Jared walked into the room and he saw the professor," hello Professor...sorry I am late." He walked over to a desk and he read the board. He got the instructions that he was suppose to explain himself...so he did. He stood up and he said to the 2 people there," Hello. My name is Jared, I like DADA a lot. It is my favorite subject. My parents are divorced so I have to stay here for the Holidays...well most of the time anyways. During the Summer i usually go stay with my dad though. I haven't seen my mom for about 3 years and I miss her. I like making friends and i have a lot. Well at least I think I do. I hope to make more though. I don't like flying on brooms because i am afraid of heights. My favorite bacd is Hawthorne Heights. " After he announced himself, he took his seat and he started to jot down some ideas for his homework. He looked over to Vickey and he said to her. " hey...what's up? " and then he went back to some writing.

"Nothing, you?" Vicky replied to Jared.

" nothing much." said Jared.

Quade walked into the room. He had heard the intructions over his footsteps out in the hall. He gasped for breath as he went to the front of the classroom and said, "Sorry i'm late. My name is Quade Sears and i am in gryffindor. This is my first year. I only have my dad for a family member because they all died at my surpsise birthday party when i was turning 2 years old. My dad didn't let me come to school until now, and i am 15. I havn't had any friends before here, i spent most of my time writing songs and learning how to play them on the drums, guitar, and keyboard." Quade sat down next to Jared, hoping he didn't over do his explaination.

[Vanessa Chang]

Vanessa dashed into the room. "Sorry I'm late, Professor!" She found out that she had to introduce herself, and said, "Well, I'm Vanessa Chang. I'm in Ravenclaw. I am in my first year. I lived in Oxford, England till I got the Hogwarts Letter. So then, I came here!"

[Headmistress Mayu Sohma]

Mayu smiled. "Well thank you guys for admitting to being late." she said and walked back to her desk and sat upon it. "I'm not sure what our next lesson will really be about. Some maybe you can guys can vote. The choices are;

Vampires
Boggarts
Banshees" she said.

"After you are done voting you may leave." she said.
