Herbology~Lesson 1 intro~

Professor Poe walked up to the bord and used her wand to write:

Students please take a seat and get out your notebooks. Please write notes when I start talking.

Professor Poe turned to face the empty seats, and smiled soon her class would be there.

[Vicky Granger]

Vicky walked into the Herbology class beaming. She was so excited that she was finally going to be able to learn about plants and stuff like that. " Good morning professor. How are you today?" Vicky asked as she took a seat in the front row and took out her notebook getting ready for class to begin.

"I am doing very well thank you," Poe said to the student.

[Shou Yurashima]

Shou walked into the Greenhouse silently, only to see another Gryffindor and the Professor. He bit his lip gently and read the board, he grabbed his notebook out and took a seat silently.

Lila wlalked in to the room and found two other griffindors she was the only hufflepuff well so far.
She took out her notebook and took a seat she was quite happy to learn about herbs.

Poe started the lesson out as, “Hello, everyone. Today we will be working with Chinese Chomping Cabbages or CCCs. These interesting plants are native to China. They grow in sandy soils and love dragon dung fertilizer.”

“The Chinese Chomping Cabbage is a very useful plant for potion making. CCC increases the potency of a potion times 10. In other words, if a potion normally would work for 5 hours, then adding the Chinese Chomping Cabbages will make the potion last for 50 hours. Naturally, one would think that this would be a good potion ingredient to use when brew most of your potions, but there is a negative to the Chinese Chomping Cabbage. The negative effect happens when someone ingests too many potions containing CCC. If someone uses too much CCC potions on themselves, they will begin to age at an increased rate. Crescent Enrich learned this lesson the hard way. Crescent liked CCC so much that he used it in all of his potions. When he passed away at the young age of 35, he looked like a 175 year old... quite shriveled and unattractive.”

“Today we will be working in the garden. The CCCs need to be hoed and fertilized. Cabbages are greedy feeders and require plenty of fertilizer during the growing period. Sitting by the garden are wheel barrows full of dragon dung fertilizer and rakes and hoes. You will need to rake or hoe the fertilizer into the soil around the CCCs. Please be careful as they will chomp at ankles or the tool use if you get too close.” Poe said. "Ok, we have to be some what careful." Poe told the class.

After finishing his note Shou stood up, grabbed a hoe and a bag of fertilizer. He was use to this, he had to work on his parent's farm almost every summer. He set the bag of fertilizer down and began to hoe the land down. After awhile he brushed his forehead and set the hoe down, he opened the bag offertilizer and began to place it where it was needed.

Lila did as she was told and opened the bag offertilizer and began to place it where it was needed. She smiled and was having SO much fun in herbology.

[Vanessa Chang]

Vanessa finished scribbling down neat notes, and took the fertilizer and hoe. She went to the nearest cabbage and started hoeing and putting the fertilizer where needed.

Professor Poe walked around the room, she saw Vennesa's paper and admired the neatness, Poe liked neat, and took the work in her hand and made a copy of it, she had the copy, to show the class when they were done.
